Education: 2010 Golden Pyramid Scholars Achievers Awards and Health Expo
Press Release In a challenging economy, with rising unemployment, it’s even more important to have a competitive advantage. Education and youth development programs, cornerstones of the Urban League’s mission, help deliver that competitive edge. In response to these challenges, the Urban League local movement seeks to forge new and old partnerships and sponsorships to develop excellent programming with educational initiatives.

Once again our schools, civic, and community organizations will gather to witness the initiation of some of the county’s brightest urban youth into the Golden Pyramid Scholars Achievers Society. This prestigious association will draw county wide attention to youth that demonstrate outstanding achievement in school, in their community, and their life.

Students who achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or greater and testing scores at or above 50% in reading, language arts, and math will be honored, at this event. In addition, we are presenting an opportunity for education and health organizations to host booths providing resource information for youth and families attending the event. Essentially, you and your organization will have a chance to market to an attractive demographic of about 3,000 attendees.

It would be an honor to have you participate as an official sponsor in this important occasion. Should you have any questions, or want create a specialized sponsorship package, please contact our office at 619.266.6265 or kea@sdul.org.
